Taking the advice given to Alice in Wonderland, I'll begin at the beginning; the installation, since that's where the problems begin.

Installation

On the plus side, Vista setup detects and uses input devices other than a standard PS/2 or USB keyboard and mouse. If you have a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, Vista setup will detect and use it.
Windows setup includes comprehensive help text that can be accessed by the user before initiating the installation process; however the help text contains far too little information on the decisions to be made during the installation process itself and too much information that may only be relevant after the installation has presumably failed in some way.

The requirement to enter a valid product key during the installation process has been removed. The installation must be activated within 30 days.
The help text tells you that upgrading over some language versions of XP is not supported. One is drawn to wonder if Microsoft will put this kind of information on the packaging so that an informed purchase decision can be made.
